Welcome to Biblical Worldview!
Summary of Course:
A recent study of college students throughout the United States indicated that as many as 59% of those claiming to be Christian their freshman year no longer ascribed to Christianity by their senior year. Living in a culture of postmodern thought, students are exposed to a host of philosophies which contradict biblical truth. We are called to train our youth to think and live biblically (Proverbs 22:6). The Lightbearers curriculum guides students through this process. The course will focus on the definition and importance of philosophy; the evaluation of the predominant worldviews of our age, including theism, naturalism, and transcendentalism in light of biblical truth; an in-depth analysis of absolute truth, relativism, and how to demonstrate love toward those with opposing worldviews; an analysis of the philosophical implications in modern media; a biblical examination of purity in light of modern views of sexual immorality; comprehensive investigations into modern ethical issues, such as abortion and homosexuality; and a critical analysis of viewing all areas of life and popular ideologies, such as biology, sociology, psychology, law, politics, economics, history, cults, evolution, feminism, pluralism, relationships, and socialism through a biblical worldview.
